Frequently Asked Questions
I’d like to set up an appointment. What do I do?
If you feel like I am a good match for you, visit this page to book a session and I will send you an invite to join Practice Better, which is the HIPPA-complient platform we will use to meet virtually. Payment is not required ahead of time but it is preferred.
You talked about Disordered Eating Recovery and cultivating a new identity, but I don’t think I’m ready for that. Can I still see you?
Of course. Most of my clients are in a place where they want to let go of their weight as a measure of self-worth and want to think about food less, but their history of dieting makes it hard to do so. I am here to support and guide you to make better decisions for your mind and body. I have a Registered Dietitian credential, but I am not the expert of your experience.
How long will I need to see you?
It depends on the purpose of our meeting, your goals, your readiness to change, the support systems you have in place and other factors. This is really up to you. I will encourage you to determine if your needs are being met and whether or not we are making progress toward your goals.
Where will we meet?
If you live in Northern Virginia, we can meet in person at a local coffee shop or via Practice Better. Please note: All information disclosed within sessions is confidential, following HIPAA guidelines of Privacy Practices.
Disclaimer: When you become a credentialed Registered Dietitian, some states require additional licensure to practice Medical Nutrition Therapy in their states. For this reason, if you reside in a state other than Virginia, Maryland, California, Colorado, or Michigan, I will be viewed as a health coach, not a registered dietitian, and can only provide intuitive eating, healthy lifestyle and body image coaching, not medical nutrition therapy.
How much does working with you cost?
I do not currently accept insurance. If you would like more information on rates for sessions and packages, click here.
